Some Fridays, I take the public bus to work.
There could be several reasons for this. Maybe my husband isn’t home to drive me, or maybe I have a dinner appointment after work and need to make my own way there.
Yesterday, I had both reasons. 😆
So, off I went on the bus.
I use my phone for almost everything these days. And yes, I even use it to pay for my bus ride. I simply tapped my phone on the card reader when I got on and again when I got off at my stop.
As I walked toward school, I was holding my mini backpack in front of me.
I always wear it in front rather than on my back. It’s a habit that I think many Filipinos can relate to. 😆 When you’re walking around, especially in a busy place, keeping your bag in front feels safer.
Actually, I think we should stop calling it a backpack.
Mine is clearly a frontpack. 😂
And there is another advantage to wearing it in front: when I’m holding my phone, I can simply rest my other hand on top of the bag. It’s comfortable, convenient, and apparently… a perfect setup for accidentally filming myself.
I arrived at school and eventually checked my phone for messages.
That’s when I noticed something strange.
My phone had a new video recording.
I opened it.
And there I was.
Walking across a pedestrian crossing.
Just my feet.
😆😆😆
Apparently, my phone had decided to document my journey to work without asking me first.
At first, I had no idea how it happened. But considering where I was holding my phone, I can only assume my hand must have accidentally touched the camera while I was walking.
Still, I couldn’t help laughing.
My phone is truly living up to its name.
Smartphone.
Maybe it’s trying to tell me something.
Maybe it’s tired of watching me use my GoPro to record fishing videos and is finally saying:
“Hey, Kim. I can do that too.” 😂
Perhaps this is the beginning of a new era.
No more worrying about my GoPro taking those beautiful fish-less videos while I’m walking along the river. 😆
My smartphone has officially volunteered for the job.
The only problem?
It seems to be more interested in filming my feet than the fish.
Well… it’s a start. 😂🎣📱
