Another morning on the Korean bus… 😆🚌

I took the bus to work this morning.

At one stop, a man who looked to be in his early 50s got on wearing a baby-pink crop top, short shorts, pink socks, and pink sneakers. And yes… he was unshaven too. 😆💗

At the next stop, a few elderly ladies got on.

They were completely quiet while he was still on the bus.

Then the doors closed.

And suddenly… the discussion began. 🤣

“I thought he was an ajumma!”

“Maybe he’s sick or something. His family must be looking for him right now.”

“Looks like he’s wearing his wife’s pajamas!”

Then came the one that made me almost lose it:

“Maybe he’s a FOREIGNER!” 🤣🤣🤣

Apparently, a Korean man dressing like that was so difficult to process that being a foreigner seemed like the most reasonable explanation. 😆

To my rainbow friends 🌈❤️ – I wasn’t laughing at the man. I was laughing at the ajummas’ completely unexpected theories. 😂

And honestly, at least they waited until he was off the bus before saying anything!

The bus doors closed… and the gossip doors opened. 🤣

And just to be clear, I have absolutely nothing against LGBTQ+ people. ❤️🌈

Growing up in the Philippines, I was surrounded by gay men and lesbians from a young age. They were simply part of everyday life for me. In fact, I’ve always admired many of them for being brave, confident, and incredibly smart.

So I wasn’t laughing at the man on the bus. 😆

I was laughing at the ajummas’ theories – especially how they went from “I thought he was an ajumma!” to “Maybe he’s a FOREIGNER!” 🤣

Sometimes living between cultures gives you these little moments where you just sit there quietly and think…

“Did I really just hear that?” 😂
